J. Ethan Hopper was born in 1989 in Omaha, Nebraska.
His family soon moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was raised and educated.
His interest in art showed early, as his 6th grade art instructor recognized him as a prodigy, even at that early age.
Along with high school instructor and mentor, Micheal Jones, his talent blossomed. He produced work in painting, drawing, and sculpture and along with classmate Victoria Brady he produced a large painting of the city of Tulsa reflected in the Arkansas River, winning best of show in Tulsa’s Mayfest Student Gallery, in 2008.
After studying with Nathan Opp at Oral Roberts University, Ethan continued his creative work, and exhibited in several shows, most notably a one man mixed media exhibit called “The Choices of Inner Conflict”, a two-man exhibit with Micheal Jones, called “The Outside of Language”, and several juried OVAC Momentum exhibits.
Ethan now resides and works in his studio in Dallas, Texas.
